I was always wondering if you could cross a not-hot pepper (bell pepper or what have you) with a C. Chinense? like a monster sized bhut or something. i was always curious about that.

Yes you can, but it takes much work to stabilize such a variety. never actually seen one.

To my understanding, crossing a smaller pepper with a bigger one doesn't necessarily mean anything. Depends which one has the dominant size genes and all that or something..... yeah. (I dunno, it kinda sounds right to me anyway. )
