OK for growing
P.S. I am new to this whole growing thing

I want to know what is the best lighting set up with both red and blue lights, including light bulbs.

P.S. I am new to this whole growing thing

If you are starting from sprouts, I would just recommend buying some florecent grow lights at Walmart for $11 a piece, they need to be only a few inches from the plants at this time. You can always remove the plastic covers on the lights to increase light intensity. After you true leaves grow in completely, I recommend upgrading to somthing like this http://www.ebay.com/...=item256a98d7df. But due to the light intensity you will want to hang the lights a good 2-3 feet above the plants. You may have to play with it a little to get it just right. As far as the red and blue colors you can add them into the light fixture if you want. It really wont make that big of a difference between colored and florecent bulbs. Either way you will get a nice healthy plant!

Something I should add is it also depends on how many plants your growing and the sq ft

The Sun.

But on a serious note, just scan through the first 2 pages of Grow Tech, after you have read lighting 101 and if you still have questions post them. There are hundreds of recommendations on these pages. Just have to read.
