Wow that's amazing .
I hope you have success getting more pods.

I think you have some interesting peppers to work with
Plus,Some unique crosses
Many I haven't heard of

Thanks I will be checking out the grow
Thank you! 😁 I made a lot of the crosses myself. I'll have to find some pics of what I've got so far. Basically everything involving Aji Guyana, variegated sugar rush stripey, and Fatalii crosses are all mine. Looking forward to progressing them this year and seeing what comes up!

Looks like you're off to a great start for the season, Isotope! That's a solid grow list, especially if you're growing multiple specimens of the F2+ generations for variation and selection. How are you set for inside growing room? Do you keep your hybrids inside at least until they set fruit or do you move them outside and take precautions to avoid hybridization by insects, etc.?

Cheers,
CD

Why thank you!
I'm definitely planning on growing multiple F2s where I can. I've already had a fair crack at the Fatman BBG F2s last year and phenos didn't vary too much. All had the bbg calyx but some were more pronounced than others! The Variegated Sugar Rush crosses will require a huge F2 growout, especially the interspecific ones. So many different possibilities in there 😁
In terms of my indoor setup, I'm privileged to have space for a 4x8 tent. I've planned an indoor grow for Chinense cultivars because they fared the worst outdoors last year in all locations I have set up. All the F2s will be grown indoors and isolated properly :) I used to do hydro but have returned to soil more recently as I personally find it easier to maintain and the pump was too noisy.

Are some of the pepper plants older, that have been growing for years?
Will you be taking cuttings?

Is that what is pictured 🤔
Some of them are from last year, grown indoors :) I have a Fatman BBG F2, a Chiltepin x Lemon Drop and my Leopard Reaper. Probably will take a few cuttings from the Leopard Reaper as it's a very special cultivar for me.

I call it Leopard Reaper, but I can't be exactly sure on the cultivar. It was the first dark foliage Chinese that I ever grew. It popped up when I sowed Carolina Reaper seedlings in 2021 and was clearly something else. Contacted the grower who supplied the seeds and he said he didn't grow anything with dark foliage, so it was a bit of a mystery.
That mystery plant put out a few pods, which were gorgeous, and I sold the seeds via my website. I sold out completely, and my plant died. It was about to be extinct but I contacted one of the customers which bought seeds and asked if I could buy some back. She sent me a few seeds but Royal Mail crushed most of them. One good seed remained and I got it to sprout. And that's the only plant that's left of its kind 😁

The soil is erupting! We have our first sprouts of the year. Not gonna lie, anxiety was starting to creep in. Have I used the right soil? Too wet? Too dry?
I had to turn up the heat mat the day before yesterday, and it worked a treat!

Hello friends! Things have been pretty stagnant on the large seed tray. I think a mix of cool night temps and reused soil to blame.
Well, I've ordered a massive heated propagator and I'm going to start feeding them liquid seaweed! So I have a plan to get them going. I won't be beat!
