yes they have an average flavor, good heat and quite alot like a cayenne and is a close relative to them, SO HAMMER YOUR NOT TO FAR OFF

if its the strain i think it is? it is called YATSUFUSA in Japan, it is also widly grown in Mexico and is called JAPONES,

It is quite common and easy to grow also somewhat prolific

Yep those are used a lot in Mexican food, called chile japones like Aji Joe said, similar to chile de arbol. You can get a pound of them dried for dirt cheap at Mexican grocery stores, they originated in Mexico despite the name.
