karoo's 2015 glog

I live in a small town near the southern tip of Africa with a moderate to hot climate.
Summer highs 45C or 113F.
Short frosty winter for 4 months . Lows of 0C or 32F . Enough to kill unprotected plants.
Last year I started with Cayennes , Jalapenos and habeneros and managed to overwinter a few.

My greatest asset is great soil and homemade compost.

This year I made the leap to superhot's and ordered Choc habs , Trinidad scorpions , red habs.

Love your soil (I compost too) and I see we have about the same temps here as you do(I'm a little colder). Great looking OW jalapeño although here we seem to not raise jalapeños here(cheep as hell in the store). If your interested in a bird pepper ya might try a Zimbabwe bird. They're great in a container and to me taste as good as a Texas bird(my 2nd favorite bird now). Good luck on your grow

Yeah can't beat compost mix in your soil. You're in your springtime moving on to summer down there so your ow"s are going to jump. Very nice

Apologies for the repeat .
Sorted my membership and now posting fotos is a breeze.

At the moment I have a good mix of ;

new 3 week old plants
- Trinidad scorpion
- Chocolat habaneros
- Red habeneros
- Big Jim ( for the rest of the family)
- Baby bell peppers for ( for friends and salads )

older 10 week old plants
- cayenne
- jalapenos

overwintered plants ( already fruiting and flowering)
- cayenne
- jalapenos

It says 44.5 degrees C or 112.5 degrees F  in the shade in October!
January is our hottest month.
