hydroponics Kratky Ring of fire 2023 vs larger 2024 set up......

Hi Guy's

Last season I grew a Ring of fire in 5 litre Kratky set up with fantastic results 🙂

This season I decided to grow one in a slightly bigger kratky set up just to see what happened 🤔

I always pick my Ring of fire green and use them like Indian green chillies (Jwala) in curries and Indian pickle like Brinjals, Prawn, Carrot three of my favourite 😋 although I think the Ring of fire is hotter even in its green state.

My 2023 Ring of fire in a 5 litre bucket, obviously it's not filled to 5 litres probably left at around 2.5 litres. Production was fantastic producing close to 250 pod's 😋 pic October 2023

Fast forward to 2024.............A single Ring of fire this time in a larger bucket 10kg chicken poo container not sure of the volume in litres......

As you can see slightly larger plant 43" tall (so far ) it was in the green house until a couple of weeks ago but got evicted to make room for larger superhot trial plant's. Now it's in a sunny spot sheltered by my log pile.

I was surprised just how quick I was able to harden it off and how well it seems to have coped with outside in Scotland in late summer.... pic 1st September 2024

Today's pickings...... tons more still on the plant I haven't bothered recording yield this year as I know it's way better than when I grew them in soil.

Nice trunk too in 3" net pot and a nice low "Y" which I like in my chillie plants makes it easier to fit them in the greenhouse. I've never bothered over wintering a Ring of fire.......🤔 but I might try with this one too see it I can.

Anyone grown Ring of fire in even larger kratky ?

Anyone regularly over winter kratky ? By that I mean over wintered in soil and are "kratkyfied" the following season ?
