KReigle's pepper plants

KReigle's pepper plants (56k warning)

Here are my two Naga Morich plants that I bought from nagaseeds.org.

I had bought seeds from chiliseeds.co.uk and started 4 of them in Feb., but they died in March due to the jiffy pots drying out to quickly. In April, I bought these from nagaseeds as 3 month old plants, but due to the unusually cold spring this year, they got a late start outside.

Peppers are largest 5 are about 1.25" - 1.75" long and about 3 weeks old.

My lucky to be alive 6 month old fatalii:

2 of these were along with 2 Bih Jolokias (seed from chiliseeds.co.uk) were sprouted in late Feb., the week after the before the Naga seedlings were sprouted. The jiffy pots dried out due to me forgetting to water them before work one day and this is the lone survivor. Before he got to 1" tall, the pot dried out again and he almost died a second time in April. It's only been in the last month that he has really started growing at all.

These are my unknowns. I started 2 Cayenne and 2 Hungarian wax in jiffy pots at the same time as the Fataliis. One didn't sprout or died as a seedling and I subsequenly forgot which were which because I forgot to mark the jiffy pots.

Habeneros I picked up last week at a local nursery. These were marked down to $.25 each and already had peppers on them, so I figured what the heck and picked up three.

Not a pepper, but this is my first attempt at some lemon grass, also. I got this from an online Thai grocer over the winter and it took over a month to root.

My new arrivals from nagaseeds. Just arrived/transplanted Wednesday:

Trinidad Scorpion

They haven't recovered from the trip yet and are still sitting in shade. The scorpion lost a lot of leaves during shipping and is showing the most wilt.

Here are two cuttings from the Naga Moriches that I am trying to root.

My other naga morich, with its pods:

plus one with a tail - I can't be sure of any crossing, but I think I am going to save the seeds from this one anyway just to see what I get from it.

The fatalii still hasn't really growm much. I think this is going to stay in the 6" pot all winter at this rate.

Here are a couple gratuitous shots of my late-season habenero purchases. They dropped all the leaves they had when I bought them and retain only the foliage they grew since purchase.

The ripening pod is actually the third one now. I've already picked two in the last week.

And finally, here are my mystery peppers. I still don't remember what these are.

I'm certain I planted Hungarian wax but not sure what I planted with them. Since the seedlings were mixed up, I will just wait to see what these flowers produce.

The two dark green peppers on the right side of the plant in that first pic are actually riper today than that one. It's still taking its time getting ripe.

I won't be 'wolfing it down'. I picked one if its green siblings last week and couldn't handle more than a slice at a time. By comparison, the naga sauces I bought last year just don't have the same kick.

This will be my first ripe one, and I will have fun eating it in food, though.
