That looks like the remenants of a stamen

nope, this plant has several pods with long tails. I will get a better picture when they ripen.

Thats definitely not a stamen. Looks like a cool mutation

When I first saw them I thought what's this. One of my other Lava Yellow plant's pods doesn't have tails. And another has yet to produce pods.

Pretty cool looking pepper. A quick google search pulled up more pictures of yellow Lava pods with tails, so perhaps that is not uncommon for this variety.
