I have two plants that were recently moved outside from indoors, and a few leaves on these two plants are turning white. Does this look like sun damage? Maybe i didnt harden them off enough?

Yep. Sunburn. They should be fine. Pretty minor burning.
Yep, got a couple of those as well... Def sun...
See if you can filter the sun somewhat (shade cloth)

don't worry too much the new growth is already acclimated to the sun they will be fine
i didn't even notice the bug until you mentioned it oddly enough. did you by chance notice what kind of bug that was?
Bunch of that this year. If those leaves don't come back, trim them and the new growth will take over.
For a tropical climate plant, mine seem very easily sunburned. I guess it's all this tropical Virginia weather.
