Have heard good things about Rocotto but never tried any personally. Can you describe their flavor to me?
Here's a new question on the essentially the same subject. . . Has anyone seen any difference in germination habits / seed dormancy in wild varieties?
YES, Tovarii took 57 days to sprout - 3 separate seeds - all came up at exactly 57 days. Oddest coincidence ever! Galapagoense are around 20-30 usually.

Here's a really good question along the same lines. . . which are the top ten rarest hot pepper varieties???
The germination of the wilds is definately more hit and miss. I have had times range from as little as 2 days on a C. Rhomboideum I just sowed 2 days ago, to as high as 3 months on a Purple Flowered Chacoense. Rates are lower as well. Last year, I got over 90% on the domestic varieties, but only about 50% on the wilds. This year is starting out much better though. My first Tovarii came up in about 18 days, Buforum in about 12 days, and Lanceolatum in 7 days. Much better rates as well.

Anything on this webpage you never heard of probably qualifies...the ones we dream of getting someday, but most likely never will as Brazil holds them lock and key.
