fertilizer Liquid Fish Fertilizer

I have a question about the fish fertilizers . I remember watching a video from Pepper Joe . He recommended fish fertilizer once every two weeks . I bought some last year with the numbers 3-3-2 . But the more I look around , I see fish fertilizers with 5-5-1 . I did one week fish fertilizer and one week Epson salt spray. Last year our area was smoked in with forest fires all summer where no ones garden did very good . Plants grew well but no fruit and lots of flower drop. Come September when the smoke went away , plants started to produce . This year we stopped fish fertilizer since we had so much rain we felt the once every two week fertilizing was getting washed away and the plants looked stunted. We went with a fertilizer called trifecta+ Now with less rains and we can hand water , everything is green and growing . But out of close to 80 plants we maybe have 3-4 peppers only. Back to the question , which numbers in fish fertilizer do pepper plants like ? Could I have used the 3-3-2 and made it stronger . Or once a week? If anyone has any guidance for us we would love to hear . I can send some pictures of the plants this afternoon when Im home from work . Thanks for reading .

Changing the numbers around isn't going to magically make more pods.  Environmental factors play into pod production more heavily than nutrient concentrations.

Heavy smoke from fires can lead to acid rain.  Often, there are alterations of pH that accompany fire damage, and it may take a few years for everything to get fully back to normal.

I use a 5-1-1 regularly, and I get great yields.  I do not foliar spray, and I'm not one who believes in spraying epsom salt, just for the sake of doing so.

Again, can't stress enough - no matter what you read, just changing NPK values isn't going to magically make pods happen.  I might suggest a soil test with your local ag office.  It may shed some light on what's going on.

Here are this mornings pictures as how we are today. Most plants were stared indoors in March and some in April.

I use the Alaska fish 5-1-1, along with GS liquid seaweed 0.1-0.5-1.0, once a week, but only ~five gallons of mix in my raised bed which has 34 plants in 128 ft.2.

By the way, what medium are you using in the pots?

Also, I use Epsom salts as a foliar application once, after my plants are well established, but before they start producing a lot of flowers.

As solid7 says, environment plays a major role in how well the plants do.

Actually in the pits is a mix of 3 or 4 kinds of bagged dirt home depot sells . Bought what was on special . Miracle grow, Virago and I can't rember the other ones .
