for-sale LIVE Ashitaba Plants for sale

I grew a few plants a couple of years ago after getting some info from a Japanese friend that it can help with the ailments of chemo as my mother was diagnosed with cancer. She immediately felt better and had more energy. It's not very common in the states as it normally grows in Japan and is very popular there. The Japanese community has been drinking it in tea for it's medicinal uses for thousands of years. I planted a good amount of spare seeds and they will be ready to ship in a month or so.

If you want to reserve a plant or 2 they will be $10 each or trade for peppers sauces / powders etc. Just seeing if anyone wants any before I contact the local nursery's to get rid of the spare plants I won't have room to grow.

BTW the powder for tea is being sold for $43 for 100g so it is pretty expensive.

You have any pics of the plants? Do you sell the seeds by the way? Looks interesting. How big are the plants and how much is shipping them to tx?

I don't have pics of the sprouts, but I can take some if you like. They grow VERY slow initially because they germinate in the winter and prefer very cold temps to germinate. Once they get to around 12" they then grow very fast and prefer medium sun. I don't sell seeds because the difficulty in germinating them and the low germination rates (1 in 10). As of now they are around 3-5" in size that's why I'm just taking a list. Once they get to around 6" I'll start shipping. I'll probably do the long priority mail boxes unless multiple plants are ordered. I think the small box is around $6 and the large one twice that, but it will be whatever actual shipping charges are.

I put up an ad on ebay and sold all of them in a couple of days. I have another 20 or so that are still growing and will be ready to sale in a month or so when they get bigger so if you want to reserve a few plants let me know ahead of time.

Please put me down for one.

I will PM you my details.

Ok I'll reserve one for you. Please PM info.
newport...hmm...i think i might be interested... any photos of your mos recent seedlings....

I'll post a few pics tomorrow. Since they take 3 months to germinate and 8-9 months before they get 6" they take a LONG time before they are big enough to ship so if you want some speak up or wait for another year.

I'd take some, still open? I'm in for 4 if it is.

Ok I got you down for 4. So far I have 10 reserved so if anyone wants any don't wait until it's too late as I also sell them locally.

Here are a few snap shots of about 20 plants. They should be ready to ship pretty soon.

They should be ready to ship by now. Believe it or not it's taken almost a year to get to their current size, but once they start growing they can grow a few inches a day.
