organic Low-Cost Organic Fertilizer

I've been using OMRI listed Fox Farm branded fertilizers for a number of years now. However due to the cost of the fertilizer (around $180 for a full 3x1gallon set shipped) and quantity of plants I'm growing, I'm seeking an alternative that gives me a similar quality fertilizer, but at a much lower cost per gallon to use. I would also like something that lowers my chances of burning, but still provides immediate availability of all nutrients, both macro and micro, plus trace minerals for optimum plant health. It also has to be water soluble (solution grade / Micronized) or in liquid form so that I can use it in a drip fertigation system because I grow in Coco.

Here is what I'm looking at right now for a complete solution to provide all nutrients necessary for optimal plant health in a hydroponic environment:

1. PVFS All Purpose Liquid (5 gal) NPK 4-3-4 $79.99

2. Azomite Micronized (44 lb) Source of Mg, Ca, and trace minerals. Micronized for fertigation. $24.99

3. Diamond K Solution Grade Gypsum (50 lb) Source of S, and Ca. $8.99

Which brings me up to a total of $113.97 + $111 shipping, for a grand total of $224.97 for about 150lbs of fertilizer shipped to my door, rather than 3 gallons. I can probably cutting the shipping cost in half if I can get them to use my fedex account.

If there are any fertilizer gurus out there with experience in mixing their own hydroponic grade nutrients that would like to comment or make suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. I doubled up a little on calcium due to the fact that coco is poor with holding the nutrient.

This amount of fertilizer should last me an incredible amount of time compared to the 3 gallons at a time that I usually purchase. I plan to use PH up and down to adjust PH levels to the necessary range. It's already cheap enough, so no problems there.

Have you thought about making your own?  I have an ebook somewhere, will find the name for you if you like.  But it is on growing something else.  It gives nutrient recipes to lower your cost.
