powder-flake Making Powder

I am good at dehydrating Chiles in My Nesco, but will soon need to make powder for SHU testing.

I've got a big mortar and pestle.  Will I be able to grind the dried pods into a powder with this ancient instrument, or will I need something more modern and electronic?

Ok, I'm curious, what variety are you testing??
I am testing my accidental cross between an Aji Cereza and a Bode Amarella.  Neither of these are deadly hot, but the result is a nasty hot monster and I'm dying to know the Scoville rating.

Take a look:

Just watch out when you open the grinder the dust will get you if your not careful.
Thanks,

I'll be grinding fewer than 15 pods and need to be careful that I don't lose any of the powder - like on the bottom of a bowl or stuck to a blade.  I need to be efficient about this.
