Male and female????

Is it true there s male and female chili flowers?? i just saw a video that they were pollinating by hand and the person said to rub the male then the female, how do yo know which is which????

The stamen are the male parts (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stamen for a picture), and the pistil is the female part. According to The Chili Pepper Institute of New Mexico State University, chili peppers are generally self-pollenating - they contain both stamen and pistil within a single flower. However, this is not 100% true for all species. Generally flowers have a single female part (if any) and multiple male parts.
