plant-care Mattepeno F5, stunted?

I think I'm going to throw a new seed in the ground. It is not root bound. Stopped really growing 2-3 months ago.. Super strange.

Posting for fun :)

Just from looking at it, my guess is that the problem could be not enough chlorophyll. I grew Mattapenos last year. One of them started out highly variegated; there was not much green on it at first, although it still had a bit more than the plant in your picture. That plant grew very slowly until it finally started putting out some mostly green leaves, and then it just took off. Its siblings (from the same packet of seeds) that started out almost completely green were already 2-3 times its size by the time the more variegated one finally got into gear. Yeah, I think that starting some more Mattapeno seeds might be a good idea if you still want to try to get some Mattapeno pods this year.
