MAYAN COBANERO LOVE PEPPER

hello all and especially SMOKEMASTER

i seem to remember a conversation with SMOKEMASTER about there being two separate species of MAYAN COBANERO LOVE PEPPER

i was wondering if this is true as i received seeds from two different sources both are different in appearance
both seem to be Annum
one is small sort of "TEPIN-LIKE" or "BIRDSEYE-LIKE" short and blunt

the other is fatter and longer and slightly pointed (very similar to the ornamental pepper "ORDONO")

can anyone shed a little light on this subject, i just wanna know for sure so i have a proper id on the seeds when they get distributed
any help would be greatly appreciated

Mayan Love = Annuum
Mayan Cobanero love = Chinense

Cobanero +Baccatum Var. Praetermissum

Seed venders sell any one of these as if they are the same thing and interchange the names.

Still on the phone...Beth and I talk a long time.
I think the Cobanero baccatum var. ... is probably the one you really want -baccatum.
It is sold as a wild most times.
I am not sure but I think I sent you a couple of each in seeds.

I cooked the Chinense and Annuum , but the Baccatum is growing.

Confusing,Cobanero Love and Myan love seem similar,depending on the supplier.
All I know is I have 3 different labels on my seeds.Annuum,Baccatum and Chinense.

Might be a name thing or the plants origins as suggested in the chilemans link.


Like the gray fuzzies I have that all are considered as Goat weed whenever I post pics but are from different countries.
When grown side by side they are different and have different tastes and heat along with other differences you might not notice unless you grow all of them side by side.

Which seeds grew that I sent.
The Baccatum version/type sprouted best for me.


Side note while I'm thinking of it.
The Peach Bhut was a 50/50 thing.
One plant puts out peach pods the other puts out peach pods in the shade that turn red.In the sun they go from green to red.
I only planted 3 seeds.1 didn't sprout.
Most of the peach ones are a cream yellow white with pink sholders.A few are all peach/pink/yellow/white coloured.
