I really wasn't expecting this. I've been planting many different varieties this year and before going to the checkout with my order I added some paper lantern seeds on impulse. They all came up really fast, grew really tall and I picked the three biggest. I planted the seeds on new years day.I was surprised to find that I've already got flowers by the end of February. I counted 12 flower buds.
This one I kept under a warm 30 watt CFL bulb. All the other seedlings are under 45 watt CFL bulbs and get more ambient light from the window (the snow outside helps in this regard). It's planted in a 4 litre pot because I had the intention of re-potting it later on in the season before the first flowers came up. I've still got the other paper lantern seedlings in the seed tray which are almost as tall. The plant shown is about 30 - 35 cm. Maybe I should plant those in proper pots as well.
