After my beetle debacle this afternoon, thought I'd venture out and check on the rest of my plants, and what am I rewarded with?? My very first ripe Purple Tiger pod!! I've had purple pods on there for ages and have been patiently waiting for them to ripen, cut back the plant last week as it was getting scraggy looking and the dried pods all went red so was wondering why the fresh ones hadn't?.. anyways, today was my lucky day.. saw this on the plant
picked her off and came inside
had a taste and it was really good! a slight fruity (very slight) flavour and a decent hit to it.. got me in the back of the throat for a second or two before just leaving my tongue all tingly but it was much better than i expected! I wasnt expecting any heat but it gave me a nice little kick, and now a few minutes later I still have tingly lips.. whoo hooo! Go Purple Tiger!
