I've got all kinds of spiders on my plants, but I've got a couple of very unusual looking insects I've never seen before. At first I thought it was an ant, but on closer inspection I realized it was something else. It doesn't have wings; it has a mantis like head and very mantis like "fore feet" (you know, the ones it catches insects with). This morning when I went out this particular one had something white (aphid maybe??) it was holding and eating. I tried to get pictures yesterday but hand held just didn't work; so today I dragged out the tri-pod and shot a bunch of pics to get a couple good enough to actually see this guy. Now, it's only 6-7mm long, so even with a tri-pod this wasn't easy and the morning breeze didn't help.
Anyway, here it is;
