The Piquin pepper. Not too hot. I could do w/ a less smokey flavor but the heat is just right. I'll try to grow some in the near future. Mine are from the spice store (dried in a jar)
I love pequin/piquin, I put them in almost everything. I buy half pound bags from the Mexican grocery store for pretty cheap. They're my go-to hot dried pepper.
At first, I thought mine were smoked although the jar just reads "piquin peppers" then i went online & wiki said they have an intrinsic smokoy flavor. Why is that?
