My peppers roots are too hot. What should i do!?!?

Here where i live it gets 100-105* and my poor poblono peppers are to hot underground. They are in the ground, full sunlight, no shade. i assume shade is good sometimes. I need help figuring out how to solve this problem without shocking my plants.

Please help!
 
Shade cloth?

Spray cool water hourly?

Put a sign saying "Free kittens" with an arrow to your garage, then train a subjugated army of pre-adolescents to take alternating shifts cooling the plants with giant palm fronds, or they get the hose again?
 
I am curious how you come to the conclusion it's the roots that are too hot. Normally it is not the roots that are the initial problem, it's either lack of water or the leaves get too hot. However the most common solution for ground shading is to put some mulch down. The most common solution for the leaves is shade cloth. The most common solution for lack of water is ...
