I'm sure it is a coincidence but last night we got the first measurable rainfall in more than two weeks and just the second one for the month. Today, the wheat I sowed last week is through the ground, meaning the birds didn't devour it all
Joking aside, this may be the most important seeds or plants I have added to the garden this year. The only thing I wish IO could add would be a truck load of tobacco stalks.
If you have a garden (not containers), for 65ยข per pound, it is the very best fertilizer you can buy. Sow it this fall, mow it in the spring (or if you have a tractor and plow, plow it under) and either rotary till the dirt or in my case cover it with dirt (in the dead part of the garden) and I guarantee you that next year's garden will be better.
