Neighbor's pepper plant

I was talking to my neighbor who told me had a pepper plant from Africa. Any ideas on the kind of pepper he has?

The plant is about 4 feet tall and huge in diameter.

Maybe a Jamaican red? How big are the ripe peppers?

Peppers were kind of small, now I am thinking, from the different pods that there was more than one plant in that huge bush.

I am trying to get access to the plant again to see if there is more than one pepper plant.
