New from WI

Hello
Longtime forum stalker, first time poster.
Diving in to non-supermarket peppers now.

I've probably no heat tolerance at all so I'll probably be avoiding the superhots, but I am very interested in sauce and salsa that have heat, but more importantly, flavors.

hoping to create some homemade sauce using interesting nonpungents/less pungents (tobago+grenada seasoning, pink hab, suave orange and red, trinidad perfume, green scorpion)  and then dropping in a few real peppers to taste for heat.
has anyone done anything like this?

Does anybody know where I can find CGN21500 seeds? I can't seem to find any, but most of the reviews i've read say the same thing..."best tasting pepper ever"

I'll be building an entry level lighting system using some t12 fixtures i found for free and some mylar. How do you keep solo cups from floating around when you bottom water?

welcome!! im new here too. amazing place. youll love it.

to answer your question - i am also bottom watering in solo cups. use "double cup" method. what type of grow media are you using (ie potting soil, soilless medium//promix/etc, coco)?

Thanks for the Welcome everyone!

What is the "double cup" method. Sounds like it should be intuitive...

I'll probably be using potting soil. I don't have a good supply of compost nor time to search out 511 mix materials. I may experiment with Al's Gritty mix minus the bark with FoliagePro. I have napa oil-dri and granite, mixed in the right ratio it should work. I'm just trying to get plants ready for transplant. I'd like to overwinter in the future.

gimme a bit and i will try to find a good video.

basically, cut some vertical slits in the "inner" solo cup, and shave some openings around the bottom rim. plant the plant inside this one. then you can set the whole cup inside another uncut cup. makes bottom watering easier, plus easy to see when roots are getting longer, etc.

edit: VOILA!
