New guy from sunny Florida

Hello there,

I have been reading around on this site for a couple weeks or so gathering some information around my new hobby. So, everything has progressed really rapidly but I will give you a brief rundown. I am a member of several different kinds of forums so I know all about the welcome post. I also know that very few people actually read these but here is mine either way.

1. First and most important I have always been a spicy food lover. I love to cook and often find myself finding new and creative ways to do the same things I have always done. Here is a glimpse of my hot sauce cabinet...

2. I have been big into the BBQ scene for a long time. I have built my own smokers from scratch and with that evolved my cooking to go with it. I love to grill, smoke, and cook in general and this site has inspired me to take it to the next level. I currently make my own spice rubs, bbq sauce's and now getting into hot sauces. Enjoy some food porn...

3. I have always had some sort of little plants growing around the house but recently have taken on growing peppers.

It all started with my proximinity to St. Augustine, home of the Datil Pepper. My family and I have grown to love this pepper and the many many sauces that have come from it offered by locals and such. Since I already make my own sauces, I figured that my own hot sauce was next on the list. Here is a shot of my plants minus another that I recently picked up.

The 3 big pots are Datil peppers and the little one is a Moruga Scorpion (supposedly). I also have a new sweet Datil plant but it is not pictured.

So, I guess that is about it. I also just started my first ferment yesterday but I'll save that for another thread. What else can I get on the table...? So my forum name is Chiefmanywrenches. So elequently dubbed by my buddy because I have a wide variety of tools lol. I love working on projects and can fix almost anything. I also am just a tinkerer by nature so the hot sauce world just intrigues me. Y'all have a great day, let me know if you have any questions.
