SadisticPeppers
eXtreme Business
As I mentioned yesterday in another thread, I got my dehydrator, and put in 3/4 of a pound of Butch T's, and 1/4 of a pound of Yellow Datil's, all purchased from PepperRich
I sliced them in half, and placed them open side up on the racks of the dehydrator like so:
After around 22 hours worth of drying, I ended up with exactly 3 ounces on the nose worth of dried peppers. I placed them in my handy-dandy Ninja Blender, and with 1/2 teaspoon of salt added, got this:
I shall call this powder The Sands Of Tartarus, after the level of Hades where all the wicked & damned souls & previous gods & immortals deemed offensive to the Olympian Gods would spend an eternity in torment. It's a fitting name as well, since just the dust that got kicked up from opening up my Ninja blender was more than enough to induce a coughing fit, and cause my lips & the back of my throat to burn.
Granted, the amount looks kinda small, but it's because I've put it in a huge container, and I've done so on purpose. Reason being, since this was such a ravishing success, I'll be drying the rest of the peppers I've purchased from Baker's Peppers, which comprise 4 more full containers of this same size) and adding them to this powder, along with the concurrent amount of sea salt I initially added to this batch. Once I'm done and have this weighed, I'll be only too happy to put it up for sale
