event New to the scene

Hey,
 
Im relatively new to the scene but have been following it for a little while now and am keen in getting involved in some events/conventions. Im based in the UK and cant seem to find any big ones over here. Am I missing something or do all the best events happen in the US? If thats the case what would be the biggest and best one worth the trip over to come and see?

This organization has lots of events all over the UK. There are some in Norway and other EU countries.
