Not about peppers but still looking for help

Hey today I went out and started picking sweet cherries of my trees.1 5 lb container so far but,,,,while doing so I found an brown mold like on a bunch of them.I do know this washes off and they are fine.Does anyone have a clue as to what it may be and then what to treat with?Any advise would be great being as it seems to speed up the rate of rot on the cherries.Thanks for the help.

Given the severity of the tomato situation, I suggest not eating those cherries just yet. I would call you county extension agent (if you have one), health department or local university.
