OCD 2015

Hey everbody. Well I'm still working out of town and have been living in my 17ft travel trailer for the past 5 months. I've got some Jigsaw's soaking and when I get back home this weekend I'll start some more.
Tepin x Lemons are on the list. Thanks to Mike (smileyguy697) for this fantastic pepper. I've got some others on my mind as well, just can't decide. I will be doing SIP and raised beds again this year. Hope all is well out there in the community. Here's to 2015 grow and good luck to you all.

I'm curious, could your Prik be the same as the Prik Leung I'm growing this year? I got mine as bonus seeds, and they were described as orange thai chilies.

You are really moving things along Chuck! Love the saucechat. I think a recipe thread sounds like a good idea.

I think I get the most mileage out of a basic vinegar and salt and garlic recipe I use with roasted supers. Some kind of pretreatment like roasting, smoking, or fermenting really brings the supers alive and takes off that edge that chinenses develop sometimes.

Keep on growing bud.

Im not sure. I don't know what kind of Prik I've got. Ummm. That just doesn't sound right. LOL! I hear of a Prik Kee Noo and other various names. My plant was given to me by a friend ( Beerbreath) on this forum. Have to give him props every time I mention the plants he sent me. Next time I talk to him I'll ask if he knows. Here is a pic of the plant. It is producing many pods.

Thanks Adam. I will order some woozy bottles soon, then I can get into some experimental sauce making. I figure small batches. They last sauce I made was a winner. There was something missing that I couldn't figure out. I forgot the allspice. DOPE. I wouldn't have thought it would have made a difference but it did. The sauce still is great. I need to start writing all the ingredients down. I have a great memory, but sometimes I slip.LOL Any kitchen project's lately? I guess I need to take a stroll over to your GLOG. Thanks for stopping by everyone.

Well that's it for this week. Be back in a week. I guess that's the good thing about working out of town. I notice the progress. I'm going to take a couple plants with me, so I don't feel so alone.

Wow, that's great!  I didn't know birds did that, good to know.

The finches do... the dandelion seeds are about the size of the black niger seed I feed them in the winter. They eat the echinacea seeds from the flower garden too.

Everything looks to be in apple pie order Chuck... keep on keepin' on! :)

Im trying to make the best at living out of town. This town is nice. It has all the amenities and it's not crowned. Beautiful scenery. This is elk country. I could live here. The Winter's are harsh though. Lots of wild life. Lots of birds I've never seen before. There constantly singing and making noise. I love it. Still I would rather be at home, but making the best of it.

I brought a few friends with me.

Biker Billy, MoA, Tepin, and Chilhuacle Amarillo

Looking good over there Chuck, the peppers are looking great and its nice to see them in there new homes. Hope all is going well. Still lots of rain over here, accompanied with a few tornados in the area. none too close for comfort though, knock on wood. All peppers were planted two weeks ago along with some corn and beans, as we were getting the last few in it started pouring on us. Waits few days then rains more lol. Waiting yet again for the ground to get to a damp state to plant the tomatoes and other veggies.

Take Care!

Oh and BTW.........

Thanks Anthony! Good to hear from you. I see there's some more rain coming in tomorrow. Glad to hear you've got the plants in the ground. That would be fantastic if my plant turns out like that one. I really like the way it looks. I think it's going on the OW list along with some other you sent me. We shall see. Thanks again. Did you get the time to make anything with that Reaper mash? It might be to hot to work with. I still didn't find out how long it would last in the fridge. As you've probably seen, I'm getting into sauce making as a hobby. I might order a jar of that for sauces. He has Scorpion mash as well. Might get a combo.

Well I'm rambling on, so thanks for stopping by.

Didn't make it home this weekend. I had to fix some plumbing issues on the trailer. The joys of RVing. Plants seem to be good. Had my girlfriend send pics. Have been using a tailgate bbq a lot lately. I will feed the plants next week when I return. View attachment 24131 View attachment 24132 View attachment 24133 View attachment 24134

Thank god they feed you well Chuck! ;)  Looks like your girlfriend is taking good care of your chile babies... well done her!
That food is all me. Everybody seems to like my cooking. So I end up cooking.LOL. We've done some dogs and burger's as well. I like to make anything south of the border. I think Carnitas on the Disco is next. I went fishing today. Didn't catch anything, but it was good to do something different.

And yes, I'm grateful she's looking after the plants. Especially this time of year. Not much growth yet. Oh well, it's still fun. Thanks for stopping by. View attachment 24142 View attachment 24143 View attachment 24144 View attachment 24145

Love your pictures of the view.  Leaving for Colorado Springs next weekend for a family reunion.  Haven't been west or seen the mountains in a long time.

Okay, I'm confused. Who made the menudo? You?? You should be banned for posting photos like that. I hope to cook some menudo this Summer, outdoors on the propane burner. I hear the smell of cooking tripe is fierce.

Have a nice trip. I love the mountains. Hate the Winters. LOL. Pikes Peak! Hopefully the weather is good we've had a lot of weather lately. As they say, "That's Colorado For You".

No I didn't make it. It's from a shop down the road. It smells horrible if not prepared right. You have to rinse, soak it in lime, boil, and rinse. Repeat a couple times. I like pigs feet and cows ankles in it. I also like smooth and honeycomb tripe in it. Outdoors on a burner is a good choice. The problem is, I make to much. LOL

any hail damage this week?  My plants are toast.
What? No way. That sucks. We haven't had any hail. Scattered rain showers. That's why I need to get my hoop house together. Maybe a couple of them. I hate hail. I got hit last year. Just poked holes in the leaves. They turned out fine. I've seen them stripped and come back. How bad are they?

Beautiful shots of the food and scenery around your temporary location.   Now I am hungry!  Looks like you are making the best of your job situation.   Getting any riding on your bike this summer?

Dang! You had to mention that. Unfortunately I have not. Between family and job, I haven't made the time. I thought about leaving the truck this weekend and bringing up the bike. The weather has been questionable. Hail, flooding, and heat. The good thing is. Finally paid off the bike.

Thanks for stopping by. I will get the bike out one way or another.

Have a great week.

Sorry about that!   I have not done much either.  Was suppose to go for a 400 mile run tomorrow, but buddy got tagged to work extra hours.  Since he works at the same place I used to, I am glad he is keeping my retirement fund going!

But soon!   Always nice to have 1 less monthly bill.

Take care

I know the feeling... my wife works a 60 hour work week at her non-profit as often as not, so the cooking falls to me mostly. She says the other women where she works are often jealous when she heats up her lunch, but we can't help that. ;)

Y'know, they say a bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work... :D

Great pics Chuck! Makes me want to do some BBQ, just haven't had any time. The plants look great! Glad they're being well cared for.

Got a batch of woozy bottles in here too. Saucemakin month is almost here!
