I pulled up my ghost peppers plant that had 200 plus ripe peppers and was the most productive super I had ever grown and gave them all to my brother to make sauce. I'm not a big fan of their flavor. But I also picked 75 ripe Caribbean Reds which I love the flavor and heat and will make some sauce out of them. I will also pick several varieties of ripe Aji Peppers this week and make some sauce with them. day time temps in the mid 80's this week and lows at night in the low 50's. Peppers are still doing well in my area. I'm hoping my Rocotto's will ripen by the end of the month. This year no overwintering for me so what is in the ground is staying so if they survive its great and if they die then so be it.Â
I'm cleaning up the greenhouse to start up some new plants growing in hydro. I'm growing tomatoes, peppers and cukes. I grew tomatoes last year but peppers and cukes will be new but should work with our winter.
work, sleep, work, sleep, work.....my poor plants are very sad and lonely lately.
I wonder if I could call in a couple sick days to take care of my babies......
Also converting our downstairs family room into a living space / bedroom for guests. We will still have a living room ( seats 10 ) and dining room downstairs.Â
Working on organizing the garage. Finally caught the nasty rat last night that was taking up residence in the rafters of the garage. He just couldn't say no to the bacon laced spring trap. Nasty little fugger.
Chinese hot oil. Not one of the retail brands has been all that great. Its time to make some from scratch with rice bran oil or peanut oil.
Â
Rake up some leaves for the compost pile.
Â
Get some cuttings from my laksa plants so i have some for winter. Maybe dry some too and see if its worth the effort.
