Our future home!

I made a trip to Billings, MT today and I took some videos of some modular homes that I like. Later this fall I am going to buy a new home and I've narrowed it down to one of these three. All are 3 bedroom, 2 bath and are between 1,660sq ft and a little over 2,000 sq ft. I am leaning towards the first video because I like it's simplicity and it features everything we will need. Still, all are absolutely beautiful homes and I can't wait til this fall when we buy!

I have scouted out several locations here in northern Wyoming for land. I am going for between 5 and 20 acres. The top two places I have found are in Thermopolis and Greybull because they are ready to go with utilities available. There are some beautiful places out towards Wapiti and Clark that have million dollar views, but they do not have any utilities present and are both a good 30-45 minutes outside of a town (in good weather), which I feel may be a little more trouble than it is worth. All land is outside of town, but I would prefer to be just a few minutes from town vs 30 minutes or more.

This is, I think, my favorite of the three and the one I am 95% positive that I will get. It is the smallest of the three as well at 1,660 sq ft.

This one is amazing and I think my second favorite, but the kitchen would take some getting used to because of the walk in pantry that is in an odd place and makes it not quite as open as I would prefer.

And number 3. I really like the hickory doors and the tile shower, but I would have to change the countertops to granite or granite/tile like the first two houses had.

Congratulations but why cant my home be that clean?  Oh ye, I live in it.

Haha, those were just the model homes on site (note the carpet not being tacked down and random drywalling not finished where the two halves meet.

Whose home is that clean, anyways? We have a kiddo, so I know it isn't going to completely spotless.

I have three.  One is eighty seven years old.  The young ones dont make that much mess.  The older one likes poop art.

I think any of them would be great!!! They all seem to have good things and some not so good things... :)
I do like the sinks in the wash/mud rooms and they all look like they have big closets for the Mrs...
Just remember, "If Momma ain't happy, Ain't nobody happy!!!"

Congrates!!!
How about photos of the land??? :)

Seriously dude, quit trolling my posts. You're on my last reserve nerve. Maybe if you weren't too busy trolling you would have read the part of my status where I said used a different vehicle yesterday or know that I am coming into a substantial amount of money this fall. Do me a favor, please. If you can't play nice, just don't read or reply to my posts. Thank you.

Here are the only pics I have off hand of some land I liked. This is out towards Wapiti. Look at that view! As I mentioned, the trade-off is the fact that there are no utilities present, so that would be added cost and hassle I don't think I want to deal with.

TNRedit: Here are some that are up for sale right now.

Down by Thermopolis. Nice and flat with utilities present. Maybe not the greatest view, but heck, ya drive half a mile down the road and you've got an amazing view of the Wind River Canyon.

Just outside of Greybull. Again, not the best view right here, but are utilities present and a short drive right down the road and you've got an amazing view of the Big Horn mountains.

Wow, Ben!!!
Those are beautiful pieces of property!!!
A nice home in the country with plenty of space for your kid to play.... Man, that's gonna be awesome!!!

 - You could go off the grid....  LOL
Unfortunately, It isn't cost effective at today's prices....
But I have always thought it would be nice not to have to pay each month for power, when there is wind and sunshine all around me...

Thanks for sharing!

I've thought about adding some solar panels and/or wind generators later on since there is no shortage of sunshine and wind around here! If I did go that route, it would only be to take the edge off my utilities because you can't rely 100% on solar/wind energy. I will be paying cash for all this, so I will only have utilities to worry about. That will be nice to be debt free.

Looks nice! It does look a bit like snake territory though, but I have no clue what lives where in the US. I bet there are a ton of lizzards as well. It's always fun to watch them run in terror when you're just watering your plants. Though because of your user name I think the reptiles would be the least of your worries.
