Paper towel/Coffee filter

Well, I'm having trouble germinating a few chinese species, as usual, and I'm not going to give up but I was wondering if anyone here could describe in a little detail the paper towel/coffee filter method. From what i've read, you just wet a coffee filter to the point of it being moist, put it in a ziplock bag and leave the bag cracked open, and put it in a warm spot? Just fold the filter in half leaving the seeds covered from both sides? I'm going to try this method and see how much luck I get with it, I hear its much easier, just wondering if what i've heard is right or if there is any more details then I have listed.

i've never done it in a ziplock bag, i put the moist paper towel between two plates then i put the plates on something warm. and yes, paper towel on top and bottom of seeds. easy as that...

Yes, you've got it right. The coffee filter gets pretty transparent when it's wet and after a few days you can hold the baggie up to a light and see if any of the seeds have sprouted without disturbing them. When you see a sprout just take it out and plant it. EZ.

I use damp kitchen roll in a bag too. I think it was Potawie who said he liked coffee filters better because the roots don't grow into the filter as they might with the paper if you didn't check them regularly.
