pepper question?

hello all

seeing this is my first year for Pimenta Do Nayde and Fidalga Roxa i was wondering do either turn red ever??

mine are taking forever, i know the weather has cooled now but they were not doing anything but staying purple even when the weather was still warm??
can anyone help here??

Pimenta De Neyde does not turn red, at least not externally. with bright sunlight it is impossible to know if the pods are ripe until you cut them open. with lesser sunlight they get somewhat brighter when ripe.
