breeding Peppers and Marker-Assisted Breeding (NOT GMO)

sounds like judy needs to get her hands on some habanada seeds.

So it seems like they are saying they use the genome to find the markers, but don't actually change the genetic structure manually(GMO). Theyjust breed the ones that have the correct markers marrying old breeding technology with new genomic research. Seems like the big reason to do this is the extra paperwork/testing for gmo products and public backlash against gmo.

yea i read about this a while back.
Monsanto started doing this years back on all their produce/vegetable cultivar breeding programs.

there is also some technique they invented wherein seeds can be sampled for desirable genes prior to planting.
