Pine needles Ok or Not?

Ok, so I have a neighbor who has a pine tree that NEVER gets watered and every time the wind blows (which is just about every day)
it drops a sh*t load of needles in my garden are they bad for my plants? I've heard yes and no both, can anyone give me a definite
answer? Thanks for any input, muchly appreciated. Emon069.

Yes, mildly acidic as they decompose, similar to most compost.
The NV and CA high country generally needs acidity.

Soil in this area slightly Alkaline, Slash Pines all over down here and no problems with growing peppers.
