seeds Plant food with new seeds

Is it a good idea to throw in a little plant food with seeds youre just starting, like in the mix of soil? I have two types; a 24 -16-18 and a 6-10-10. I just dont know if this is a bad idea and could kill the seeds before they even start. I just thought maybe this would give them a boost? I would only use one of the types of course. The N24 is MG and the N6 is penningtons(looks like cat litter).

I normally don't give any fert at all until 2nd set of true leaves.
