Planting in Illinois. Is it too late?

I live in Illinois right outside of Chicago and just planted my 6 week old seedlings.

Some are in plant buckets and some are in Topsy Turvys.

The peppers I have are

1. Habanero

2. Peter Peppers

3. King Nagas

4. Bhut Jolokia

5. Trinidad Scorpion (Butch T Strain)




Do I have enough time left in the summer to see the peppers grow?
 
Looks like possible Sept. for the Bhut & Naga. Not much earlier for the Hab. Plan on making space for an overwinter for what you can. The payoff is baby pods in May next year ! I still was picking pods in my living room in Jan. !!!
 
It really depends. My guess is that you will see pods before the end of the summer. I have Bhuts, Nagas, which started flowering already and they are almost 2 months old. But I kept them under lights 24/7 up until a week or two ago. My butch T aren't flowering yet. It all really depends.
 
I agree with the other responders that it depends on numerous things, but I wanted to add that you aren't alone! I'm down in central IL near Peoria, and I'm still transplanting a lot of peppers outdoors (although my superhots have been going for months indoors in a flood and drain system). Best of luck!!!
