hydroponics Planting with fresh seeds?

I just started using an aerogarden and I'm trying to grow a hot variety, its a Reaper crossed with a Black Cobra. I basically took a fresh pepper and took the seeds out and put it directly into the growing pods without drying out the seeds like I usually do. Will it still germinate? Is there any difference whether we dry out the seeds or not before planting them? Thank you!

I haven't tried fresh seeds in an Aerogarden.
Usually seeds are dried before being planted.
Seeds that are naturally dispersed by animals usually dry waiting for the rain.

Drying seeds might take a couple days but, I am not sure if it will provide a healthier seedling or not.
On the contrary, you want the seeds to develop to maturity.
The fresh pods won't have as developed seeds as a pepper pod that has been left on the pepper plant.
Or you might not get as many seeds to germinate, if the fruits are underripe.

I have taken seeds from fresh pods and put them immediately into the soil. They germinated just fine. Also, here is a photo of a yellow Scorpion that I left in the fridge a little too long. Look what I found when I finally took the pod out of the fridge and cut it open. I think you will be fine. 🙂
