plant Please help me identify these mislabeled peppers.

I bought 4 plants that were labeled as being cayennes. Planted them in spring, they started growing peppers about mid June. I was very excited as I planned to make my own cayenne pepper. Much to my dismay, the shape was all wrong. Now they are ripe and mature, but I have absolutely no idea what they actually are. The have some heat to the , about jalapeno heat level. I'd love to know what to use them for since I have 4 plants with lots of fruit.

They look like some kind of annuum to me. To me, the shape resembles an Aleppo, but those typically ripen to red not orange. You might never know for certain what specific variety those are, but if they are around Jalapeno heat level then you could use them as Jalapeno substitutes in various ways. Some ideas: you could cook with them, make hot sauce, pepper flakes, pepper powder, or chili oil.
