Pro mix question in Canada plus a few others.

I am in Canada and have been looking around for a good priced growing agent since I grew my hot peppers in clay and topsoil last year ( yes i was a newbie then lol) I found these two and am wondering if they are the same thing with different brands or are they completely different products,

2) ALso does anyone know what a substitute for Plant tone would be? I cannot seem to find this being sold anywhere in Canada.

3) Are used coffee grinds useful at all for growing peppers?

You want the first one because it is the most economical even if you do not use it all it last for ever stored away. Plant tone can get expensive with how much it calls for but I do like that it does have a lot of micro nutrients in it. If you can not find it maybe try some other brand. I use Botanicare fertilizer for my organics. I use MIracle gro All purpose, Tomatoe feed, and bloom booster all through the plants life. When it comes to container gardening in-organic are helpfull.

Those are indeed two different types of soil. One (The BX) is pretty much like a potting mix, and the other is a type of seed starting mix.

The seeding mix typically comes in the smaller bags (I think), while all the other Pro-Mix varieties come in 3.8 cuft bales or 2.2 cuft loose bags. www.pthorticulture.com is their website with all the different types to read about.

Got no idea on the fertz, though.
 
Homegrown hydroponics on Meteor Dr off of Carlingingview by the airport. Honest, fair , helpful and have everything you need not just hydro stuff. There's a Hooters on the corner.
 
tehre is something good at coscto for 13$ or 19$ for 60L
love that stuff! ihas "mosture control"............... Who cares!)

anyway the stuff is great i used it on all my peppers and they love it!
will try to find the name... miracle grow mix (anyway plenty of chunks of wood coconut hair (dont know how to name that) )

anyway you can do your mix also... buy some fafard soil, add perlite or vermiculite and some other stuff in to make something nice (tehre is plenty of soil recipe on the internet)
and top soil is not that bad it's high sand content and helps with drainage...
just boost it with manure and nice nature stuff like compost and you will have plenty of very happy plants

Check the Rona link. My postal code it comes to $25.99/bale although I got mine this year for $25 including taxes and delivery from an Ottawa supplier

Same price in my postal code....hmm Is there a price diff between BX and BP ?
Anyway I will have to say the extra 6 bucks got it into my car seeing a currently can't hoist anything due to a bum foot.
