I received a flyer today for a workshop in Portland OR, put on by Oregon State University. From what I gather from the flyer, it's a general overview workshop for specialty foods processing. Here's a link to the registration page, scroll down about half way through the form is a link the information flyer.

Try this link for the flyer-

Just to clarify, this is not the Better Process Control School which is required for some processors to be licensed. But it looks like a pretty good overview workshop for those looking for beginning information about the specialty foods industry.

Text from the flyer-
Workshop topics
■ Introduction to unique features and
characteristics of specialty foods
■ Specialty food production in the northwest
region
■ Food safety in production of specialty foods
■ Current food law and regulations and update
on SQF (Safe Quality Food), BRC (British
Retail Consortium), and ISO 2000
■ Processing technologies and specialty
ingredients used in specialty food production
■ Panel discussion - Northwest specialty food
processors share their stories and answer
questions

Hope this helps someone~
