PURPLE ON BHUT PLANT

Hello All,

I am very new to growing anything. THis year I started with a variety of vegtables and fruits and was curious about the Bhut Jolokia. I have the bhut in a 5 gallon pot and it is now about a foot and a half tall. It has a lot of leaves on the bottom portion and the top has a lot 30+ buds of which 10 or so have started to open up with little white flowers. I have noticed that there are purplish spots on the base of the stem branches and purplish streaks on some of the branches itself. In doing a little research and looking at pics of other plants online it varies on what this could be. Some say it is normal some say it is disease, or deficiency in nutrients.

I have it potted in Miracle Grow Moisture Control, I am using bone meal once a month and Alaska Liquid Fish fertilizer once a month.

Any ideas on what this could be and if I should worry at all?

Is there an easier way to add pics? I am new to this and it will not let me simply add an attachemnt, need a url?

Photobucket is what I use. But, the purple streaks are normal, all of my Bhuts have the purple that you are talking about.

Purple stems are normal and not a disease. If you go through people's grow logs here you'll notice on the close up shots that most/many plants have them.

I forget what causes it though, sun exposure i think?

Stems are very similar to the bhuts I have. Some of mine have more purple, and yes it may be the sun for my pods with most exposure have a touch of color on them.
