so i'm happy to say that all my stragglers started sprouting when i set the pots on top of my minifridge to get them out of the way ha.

so those are all golden nuggets, from the pepper joe golden nugget seed envelope anyway. but one is purple.

pretty cool surprise for having just gotten home from work.

but is this normal to happen from time to time? is it just one of the possible genetic outcomes from the pollination of the mother plant?

i mean i learned about punnet squares in school but its pretty cool to see it happen in nature.

The purple color is just a pigment designed to protect the plant from the far-blue light. all chiles has produce it, but some species and even strains tend to do so more than others.

TX - i'm definitely going to keep that purple one for myself and see how it turns out, i've already got one of the older golden nuggets potted for a mother plant too.

omri- thanks for the info, its pretty cool to be able to see the genetic differences between tho of the same plants.
