Reaper With a Lot of Different Types of Pods

My eBay "Reaper" plant is really doing great but it has a lot of different shaped pods on it, can't really pinpoint what it was crossed with but can't wait to try one of them.

But not that many on one plant....

I have one that looks like that but not as twisted, I want to really overwinter it to see what the 2nd year pods look like

Yeah, what you have is obviously a cross and not a true reaper you were expecting.
I just picked several reapers today. The one in the upper right is the best lookin of the bunch.

Your first mistake was buying from eBay. Hopefully you won't make that mistake again. Anyways to answer your question its 100% a cross but it does have reaper in it for sure. It has been crossed with what looks like a bhut or fatalli. The plant is most likely F1 generation because it's so unstable. My advice is pick the pheno you like best and try and stabilize the chili. Cheers

That is quite a variety of pods shapes/sizes for one plant.

Sort of like one of my Yellow 7-Pot crosses from last season (but I knew it was definitely a cross (F1) before I grew it).

Yes, all from the same plant.

It's my healthiest and best looking plant so I might try and overwinter it to see what get next year how big I can get it, along with a Bhut and scorpion I have. All those along with the reaper are eBay seeds but the Bhut looks closer to the original type and not a hybrid.

Learned a lot here and I'm done with eBay for seeds, ordred from one reputable seller and will order new Reaper and Scorpion seeds since these are not legit.

I might pick the best looking but they are close to my other ones so it will be even more crossed

Thanks for all your help, seem to learn something new everyday here

Reapers are the most talked about pepper on the forum. Not because they are good but because posts saying their reapers aren't growing true or don't look like they thought they should. Imo they are highly unstable. There seems to be an immense amount of variation in them. True some vendors could just be scamming but for most part I don't think ed bothered to fully stabilize them.

Primo on the other tend to grow true the vast majority of the time.
