Just need a second opinion here, it appears to be rot but I have several peppers that are looking like this mostly on the supers but have noticed on a few others too. Is it just I'm leaving them too long on plant before picking or is this a fungus??

I see it now often of it's been rainy, or on that first wave of pods that sat on the plant for an extra long time before ripening.

Internal rot normally starts when fungi infect the flowers or young fruit. These latent infections lie dormant as the fruit develops. Once the fruit starts to ripen, the disease develops rapidly, leaving no sign of the disease on the outside of the fruit.
The disease does not move from fruit to fruit but disease can be transmitted by seed. Hot water treatments are effective at controlling all the organisms known to cause this disease.

I always thought it was related to too much rain/humidity; or those conditions made it easier for fungus/virus to do their work. For example, last year was much more mild and plenty wet; this year, while I've had a lot of rain, we've had heatwaves that have balanced it off. The result is I've had less of that internal decay in my peppers.
