romy6 2013

Well 2012 is old news so time to push onward. It was a great year for me pepperwise. If you did not get a chance to follow me last year and would like to check it out here is the link http://thehotpepper.com/topic/27252-romy6-2012/. It will save me from explaining my grow and being redundant. I am an outdoor grower only from start to finish. I try to keep my aphid /bug colonies to a minimum while batteling the temps as while growing in east central Florida. I plan on growing many other new varieties in a few months so keep an eye out. Until then I wish a great grow for all and look forward to following all of your grows. After fighting off the tequilla hangover this moring I managed to stumble along and pick my first harvest of the new year. Some yellow 7's, yellow scorps, yellw scotch bonnets with a tail, hybrid bhut, not douglah, mystery annums, choc hab , cho bhut bhut and a choc bhut x yellow 7 f3. Winter pods are always a little funky looking IMHO

 Happy New Year

... Ramon my friend. I will try the coffee thing again. I have a bunch left over from a year ago when I tried it. I know it won't get rid of the mites but ants , hope it will. I will keep you posted. As for the small pods I think it is the eratic weather that causes it more than staying cold or warm for a long duration. Major swings in temp can cause them to go into panic mode. The fence is purdy but Tebow has already begun chewing his way through. Last week he was walking around with an entire link in his mouth  Had relatives in town so didn't get a chance to build a bigger fence. :shh:
IIRC Tom stated that coffee over 6 months old is not effective, that said you could still use it to mix into soil but for an effective attempt at keeping the ants at bay I'd try with left over from freshly made. Sorry to read about the purdy fence, pups will be pups :/ and good to know you're assessment about pod size, sounds logical to me, thanks for the feedback on that :) Keep that awesome stuff coming and have a great day!

Great "little" harvest ya got there. Glad it was put to good use. Those rib slabs are to die for. How old is Tebow? Great looking dog. Pure Pit, or is he mixed?

No shortage of plants in your garden.

Nor area, I can see room for a few more...

Thanks Greg. I keep telling the wife the same thang :)

Thanks Ray Ray. The coffee I have is in sealed bags so it should still be good. We don't drink coffee so I will still give it a try.

Hey Brett how is life on the west coast. Other than upgrading to a new truck:) Tebow is about 7 months old. The guy who gave him to me said he was pure blue nose but we know better. He is still a good looking speciman.

Check out this little guy flexing his muscles at me yesterday on one of my 7 pod yellow plants

All's looking good!

Glad to see Tebow has 4 legs :P

What kind of ants are you dealing with? I've got pretty good at keeping them a bay here for the last 24 years, baits with sugar added works well for the cutters. Tero or is it Terro works well (here) for the small ants.

Take care,

Scott

Jamie,

Nice looking grow !!!! Envious is kickin' in as it snowed again here in the un-tropics. Cont'd good luck (like you need it...lol)
Thanks Mike. That snow stuff has to stop. It is uncalled for

That yellow 7-pot looks like it's about to flex a new pod wave!

Those flexing brown anoles(from Cuba) are replacing all of our native green anoles!
GreenAnoleWHLI_Ap4RL.jpg

They flex and then start doing push-ups! No lie! Cocky little bastards!

I agree Steve. You rarely see anything else around my parts. What gives?

So I thought I would share a smmall harvest. Mostly yellow scorps, yelllow 7's, some choc habs, not white bhut's and dorsett nagas.

And looky what Wayright sent me. Some of the tastiest sauce and powder on the planet. Went perfect with dinner  Thank you Kevinator :hell:

Great shot, they’re constantly around my plants eating dem bad bugs … I love dem lizard patrols ^_^

I remember those brown ones being around here since I was very young, while they do call them Cuban anoles I’m not sure where they’re from or how long they’ve been here. On the other hand the green one you show I thought was a Florida chameleon lizard that can change shades of brown, black or green … guess I’ll have to look them up for my own edification, hehe. Have you seen the giant Cuban green anoles with sharp teeth that actually eat both of these we speak of, I hate them wiping out our native lizards. And let’s not even mention the curly tail, dem Bahamian lizards are also eating our native ones :/

the lizard;; granny calls that showing his coin purse.
Nice call ^_^

Super nice!!! Puts my small harvests to shame :D

Whoa, killer vittles mon, powder and sauce … well off I go again to eat ;) Hope you have a great day brethren!

Jamie,

The Kevinator was good to me also !!!!! Got the same hot sauce and some Mr. Blister instead of Biker Chipolte. They both are GREAT !!!!! I think my suprise gift just melted the snow I mentioned earlier in your glog  Suppose to rain this weekend so that a good sign compared to snow....last year it was in the 80's and I was finding morel mushrooms.....(no they're not the funny ones).

Does your lizard help you in your pepper grow ???? Cont'd success your way !!!!!

Nice looking stew Jamie. It's still pretty cold yet and it really hits the spot! I made a Peruvian stew last night called Seco de Pollo with Chicken, onions, garlic, cilantro, peas, carrots and a few dried Aji Panca pods... fairly mild, but it tasted good! Hope you and your family have a happy Easter!

Hey, hey Brother J, when are you going to start teaching Tebow to tebow? :) I think he's old enough now, might need to work on his flexibility though.

Broah those peppers are looking good, only another 2 months to go on the Cannon Fire too. Man I need to get back here more, work lately just seems to be getting in the way more and more.

Happy Easter Jamie

Nice OW harvest!

Like the foodies, wife's asking what do you want for dinner?

Scroll up, scroll down...hmmmm

Have Great Easter!

Scott

Everything's looking great, Jamie! I kept 2 overwinter Yellow 7s myself—one of yours, and one of Hippy's. They're both budding out about like your plant with the big Cuban lizard...I think we've got those over here as well...

I finally broke down and built a chain link fence to keep my big galoots out of the garden...

Have a great weekend brah!

Really Bro, your Glog is back on page 3, really?

Ok, I see ya lurking amoung the plants and glogs, lets some Pic's and a good update in here pronto

;) Whoops, there's Tebow heading for the garden again, what is it about dogs and the smell of fresh turned dirt? My 2 go crazy when ever i just rake the mulch back in place and aare sniffing at it for a good half hour.

That Julio is a pretty good guy! Nice pull broham...and nice score from Kevin!

Shane my brotha!!! The sauce in undescribably tasty. The man know's how to grow em and how make make them into chili love:) The Don is a good guy :fireball:

Brother Gary. You know how I love my yellow 7's. Just a strong plant with hot and perfect flavored pods IMHO . Might have to get you to stop by the romy6 garden to build me one of those fences. Tebow is out of control :shame:

Billster!! Yes I have been slacking. Might try to get some pics tonight . Finally fed the babies first time in over a month. Nice Bone meal, fish fert / liquid seaweed solution. Should keep them happy for a few weeks  .

Don't get me started with Tebow the terrible. Just ate all the purdy plants my wife put out last weekend. He is on the naughty list already :shame:

Lol, I was lazy and just hired a guy to build the fence...My dogs are some diggin' machines, especially Charlie...I can't even grow grass in the dog yard...

After everything was said and done last season, after all the pods were picked and all the shouting was over, after my sinuses were better and I could taste again, I had some time alone with all those yellow peppers I had grown....That's when I discovered my new love for the Yellow 7...Man what a pepper! Wow!

Besides my 2 overwintered Yellow 7s I've got 8 brand-new plants going, reaching for the sky in classic Y7 fashion...I'm still determined to grow those 10-foot plants Hippy talks about on his site...

As for the NagaBrain grow, just wait and see....
