Root zone temp disaster

My tepins and some congo browns I sprouted at the same time are totally stalled out with just one or 2 sets of tiny leaves. Today I decided to unpot one and take a look to see what was going on underground. As soon as I turned the pot over I could tell I was in trouble. The soil was probably 120+ degrees. No surprise, there was hardly any root development.

I repotted all of them, as many as I could in larger pots, with a looser soil that is working well for my larger plants. The 2 I couldn't find bigger pots for I still replaced the soil and then dug a little hole a couple of inches into the garden and partially buried the pots, hopefully that will help a bit with the soil temperature. I really want these guys to grow up. I just hope being stalled for so long hasn't permanently harmed them.
