Met this really nice couple at the KY renaissance festival.  Gradually figured out I knew their children from working at the fair.  Over a couple of years, we've become friends.  They have been buying plants and saving the nursery pots for years.  They heard me talking about my plans to start a new wave of plants late in the season, then bring them indoors and under lights while next years seedlings grow.  So they gifted me a bunch of pots they had saved.

They gave them to me in garbage bags at this year's festival.  I put them in the back room and just now brought them home and opened them up.  Five gallon pots!  Stacks of them.  Score!!!  It feels like Christmas.

I love the relationships I have built over the years.  When my kids out grow cloths, they go to someone else.  Well, if they survived my kids.  Just folk helping folk.  No better way to live.

Last time we had car trouble I was to the point where I wanted to put up a sign that said: Don't Stop We're OK.  Seriously, so many people offered help that there was traffic backed up.  It is an amazing state.

You see what I look like in my avatar?  Now imagine 6'1" and 250 pounds in filthy torn cloths, covered in mud and probably poop.  Ran out of gas, people in nice cars saw me walking with gas can.  Finally took a ride from a 50ish year old woman who could not have weighed 120 pounds.  I could not believe it.

We do that on the bike trail here, see people from time to time walking their bike due to flats or what not. It doesn't cost anything to ask if they need air or whatever.
