One never knows where an internet search may lead, but sometimes it yields very favorable results.
One of the things I have found living near Edmonton, is the noticeable lack of variety in hot sauces.
When I've talked to a buddy living in Ontario, he told me much how he enjoys 'El Yucateco XXXTra Chili Habanero Hot Sauce', but I've never seen that one around here.
I've searched the shelves of all the major grocery chains in Edmonton and even the chains in a few surrounding towns only to come up with just a few different hot sauces.
However, a couple of nights ago, my wife and I came across a new hot sauce, one called 'Acid Rain' and made by Hatari.
We decided to buy a bottle and give it a try.

Of the six or seven different hot sauces we've tried thus far, we both agreed that this was the best tasting one.
A lot of hot sauces have a strong vinegar flavor, possibly because vinegar is the first or second ingredient listed on a lot of the labels.
But with 'Acid Rain', vinegar is listed last on the label: Habanero, Piquin, Ring Of Fire, Peri-Peri, Tepin and Jalepeno Peppers, Garlic, Ginger, Spices, Salt, Lemon, Lime and Orange Juices and Vinegar.
And with six different peppers listed as the leading ingredients, this sauce is hot...a 9 on the heat scale.
So I decided to do an internet search on 'Acid Rain', and discovered that it is made by a Calgary based company, and sold in their store called 'Some Like It Hot', right in Calgary, Alberta.
Not only do they have a retail hot sauce store, but they also have a website, unclebig.com:

I phoned the company in Calgary and they told me that they had nearly every hot sauce available out there, and with orders over $65.00 the shipping is free.
When I looked on the site I found the previously mentioned 'El Yucateco XXXTra Chili Habanero Hot Sauce', and it is hot...an 11 on the heat scale.

They also have a hot sauce called 'Addiction Naga Jolokia Hot Sauce' made with ground up Naga Jolokia peppers. Whew!
